The Don Ferrarese Charitable Foundation was started in 2006, when ten businessmen each contributed $10,000 to endow a scholarship fund, with the purpose of awarding scholarships to local students based solely upon their charitable  service and contributions to the quality of life.

The foundation of the charity recognizes that there are members of every community, who dedicate themselves to a cause greater themselves, offering their time and energies for civic and charitable causes.  The foundation also recognizes that these doers of
good deeds are often recognized for  their efforts and contributions posthumously, after they have passed and not present to receive the accolades so much deserved.

Recognizing Don Ferrarese as one of those selfless persons, who time and time again, offer themself to whatever cause says “ Please help”, dedicating himself to a  better quality of life for the community as a whole, the Foundation set out to formally recognize Don Ferrarese as the namesake of this charity, that will, in perpetuity, recognize our youth for demonstrating the same charitable spirit as don has for many years.

Since our beginnings in 2006, The Don Ferrarese Charitable Foundation has awarded eighteen (18) $4,000 scholarships, and will award ten additional scholarships annually in perpetuity.   The scholarships are awarded based solely upon the students’ charitable service.

In 2005, The Don Ferrarese Charitable Foundation initiated it’s “Volunteer of the Month” award, sponsored by Outback Steakhouse of Victorville.  The general public is invited to submit the name(s) of any volunteer in the community they feel worthy of recognition.  At the end of each month, names(s) are drawn at random, with a $70 dinner certificate to Outback Steakhouse being awarded to the randomly drawn volunteer.

Most recently, The Don Ferrarese Charitable Foundation has entered into a partnership with Moses House Ministries  to offer five (5) $500.00 scholarships to graduates of their parenting and life skills courses.  The scholarships are good for two years towards any educational program.   Moses House Ministries is dedicated to assisting young women to become self sufficient and to offer the greatly needed resources to pregnant women and mothers of children under the age of 5, with counseling, parenting courses, life skill classes and direction the direction to becoming a better parent.   In 2007, Moses House offered assistance to 1,047 young mother’s.
